Miami Heat remain confident ahead of Game 5 despite 3-1 series hole

NBA JERSEYS
The Miami Heat are one game away from elimination in the NBA Finals, but they remain as confident as ever about their chances to get back into the series against the Los Angeles Lakers and climb out of a 3-1 series hole in Game 5 on Friday night. "We think it's a really competitive series," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Thursday. "We have a purpose of why we're here. We're competing for a title and it's the first team to four wins. There's a lot of different narratives out there -- we don't give a s--- what everybody else thinks. This is everything that we wanted this year, an opportunity to fight for, compete for a title. And that hasn't changed at all through these first games."cheap nike nfl jersey…

NBA Finals: How the Heat can still shake the Lakers

NBA JERSEYS
Almost every competitive playoff series reaches a point of strategic equilibrium. All the big adjustments have been made. All that is left is to rearrange the fringes: making tiny rotation tweaks; layering counter atop counter to sets the opponent has smothered in their basic forms; varying the location of those sets. It is a search for any edge that might last two possessions. Barring the return of Goran Dragic, it felt like the NBA Finals reached that equilibrium in Game 4. Both defenses optimized. Bam Adebayo started the game on Anthony Davis, leaving Jae Crowder jostling with Dwight Howard. Howard couldn't exploit that size mismatch and had trouble chasing Miami shooters pinging off Adebayo picks. Frank Vogel started Markieff Morris in Howard's place in the second half. Davis defended Jimmy…

NBA playoffs: Now the Celtics look like themselves

NBA JERSEYS
NBA playoff basketball is an exercise in advanced problem-solving, and the Boston Celtics came into Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals with some serious problems. They blew double-digit second-half leads to the Miami Heat in consecutive losses, encountered far more trouble with the Heat's zone defense than any top-five offense should and let Miami wreak havoc in the paint. If the first two games of the series were radical departures, then Game 3 was a bold correction for the Celtics, who overwhelmed the Heat 117-106 to narrow Miami's series lead to 2-1. With an offense that has made movement, creativity and unselfishness its defining qualities, there is no good reason for the Celtics to stagnate against a 2-3 zone defense, even one as alert as Miami's. The Celtics feature…

Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler says playing from behind ‘gets old’

NBA JERSEYS
The Miami Heat's habit of falling into big second-half holes finally caught up to them in a 117-106 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday. After overcoming a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit in Game 1 and a 15-point third-quarter deficit in Game 2, the Heat fell down by as many as 20 in Game 3 and never got back on track. It's a pattern Heat players and coaches have talked openly about fixing over the past few days, but it was the Celtics who set the tone early Saturday in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.nfl nike jerseys cheap china "We've got to start the game how we start the fourth," Heat All-Star big man Bam Adebayo said. NBA playoffs: Lakers embrace D’Antoni’s vision, out-small ball Rockets

NBA JERSEYS
There are some quotes that follow a coach his whole career, or at least long enough to become profoundly ironic. When Mike D'Antoni took over as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2012 and was asked how he planned to use likely future Hall of Fame big men Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard, he shrugged and called a straight post-up possession "one of the least efficient plays in basketball." At the time, that stance was heretical for a franchise that had been led by some of the best bigs in cheap nike nfl jerseys wholesale But D'Antoni's vision has aged well. So well, in fact, that the Lakers have now fully embraced a small-ball lineup in their second-round playoff series against D'Antoni's Houston Rockets, and in a cruel bit…

NBA bubble play has some GMs discussing travel effects

NBA JERSEYS
Since games began on July 30, several NBA general managers and team athletic training officials have noticed that the play looks crisp, players are moving up and down the court with speed, and there were top-notch performances almost every night even though teams were playing every other day at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World. Though it is a small sample size, GMs and team staffers pointed to the same factor: the lack of travel. "Our guys feel better," one Western Conference GM told ESPN. "We don't know if it's anecdotal, but we've got these games and we don't have to jump on planes [afterward]."nfl nike jersey cheap "This is the advantage that we have not had," said one Western Conference athletic training staffer in…
