Mexico interim coach Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti fielded an all-Mexico based team for El Tri’s 3-2 victory over Costa Rica in Estadio Universitario, but is set to start with the Europe-based players on Tuesday against Chile.
The crowd chanted Hirving Lozano’s name to try to get Ferretti to introduce the PSV Eindhoven winger, but he and Nestor Araujo, Erick Gutierrez, Diego Reyes and Marco Fabian — all Europe-based players — watched Thursday’s game from the bench.cheap nike nfl jerseys wholesale
“There will be a lot of changes against Chile,” Ferretti told a postmatch news conference. “The majority of those that were on the bench today will have the opportunity to show themselves [on Tuesday].”
Mexico went into half-time 2-1 down against Costa Rica, with Ferretti bringing on Jurgen Damm, Henry Martin, Raul Jimenez and Jesus Corona, who provided the impetus for the comeback and the coach was left satisfied with what he saw.
“There are three, four players that are continuing to surprise me a lot and I’m sure that they are going to be in the next World Cup if they keep their form and show interest in learning,” he said. “Hopefully there is always someone there to guide them.”
Ferretti also said there were “a number” of Mexico’s younger players who could potentially play in Europe and Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez agreed.nike nfl jerseys cheap paypal
“They are 20 years old and it seems that they’ve been playing together a long time,” Jimenez told reporters. “They need to keep on the same path and not give up on their dreams. If they want to continue to be great national team footballers it is up to them and we have to protect them.”
