The Los Angeles Rams are now out of the Odell Beckham Jr. sweepstakes after acquiring Brandin Cooks in a trade with the New England Patriots, cheap nfl authentic jerseys per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Per Schefter, the Rams had been discussing a possible deal with the Giants for Beckham, but they decided to pull the trigger on Cooks because they “liked this situation better.”
Beckham has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason as he enters the final year of his rookie contract. Giants co-owner John Mara noted the team isn’t actively seeking trades but at least is taking calls.
“He’s not on the block,” Mara said of the receiver, per Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. “Is that going to stop clubs from possibly calling us? No. But he’s not on the block. We’re not shopping him around.”
According to Gary Myers of the New York Daily News, Los Angeles was arguably the top option for a potential trade, with Beckham reportedly telling Rams players “he wants in.”
Unfortunately, using a first-round pick and more on a different wide receiver removes any realistic opportunity to add the three-time Pro Bowler. Peter King of the Monday Morning Quarterback recently reported it would take two first-round picks to complete a potential trade.
If the Giants still want to make a deal, there are plenty of teams in need of a receiver.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports guessed the cheap nfl jerseys from china 49ers could enter the sweepstakes. Joe Giglio of WIP noted the Patriots could turn around and use the extra pick to trade for Beckham.
The 25-year-old will still likely be heavily pursued this offseason, but it appears the top target is no longer an option.
