”Whether if we’re at home or we’re on the road, wherever we’re playing we need to do things better than we’ve been doing this last week,” Scioscia said. ”What was really encouraging was being able to come into a park like this to a team that obviously has a terrific offense and be able to make pitches and get outs. So that is what we’re going to need to do moving forward, and hopefully, we can come out tomorrow and duplicate it.”
Skaggs took the mound to warm up at the start of the eighth inning, but Scioscia pulled him for hard-throwing reliever Justin Anderson, who made his major league debut.
